The Chi Chi was the place to see and be seen in Palm Springs. It originated as a restaurant and bar in 1938 at 217 North Palm Canyon Drive (next to the Hyatt Hotel), and eventually grew northward until it ended up just south of the current location of the Hyatt Hotel. As you can see by some of the faces on the menu, it was the hottest venue in the desert.
